Customer Involvement
In order to make sure you are getting the standard you want, there are several ways you can be involved:
- You can let us know the origin of the text, if it's not self-evident. E.g. is it correspondence or a report you have received/are sending; is it text you have produced yourself; are you commissioning the translation on behalf of another department within your organisation?
- You can let us know what/who the finished product will be used for: e.g. is it for information only; is it for publication; is it preliminary research for a project? etc.
- A translation is in effect a new piece of writing, and this kind of information helps the translator to see the project in perspective, and to set the right tone and style.
- You can provide any background documentation relating to the text, e.g. relevant websites, previous publications, product information, diagrams.
- You can give us a contact within your organisation who will be available to answer any questions, e.g. about specific terminology or company protocol.
- You can let us know if there are any special confidentiality issues involved, over and above our usual standards.
